Qualifications

Dr. Eaton has conducted research on Co-Parenting relationships and is in the process of writing a book acknowledging various forms of family as whole and viable. Her experience in working with families in the court system has lead her to the collaborative process. She views this process as a respectful means to keeping families in tact even though restructured.

Dr. Eaton began her career in working with families as a Parent Educator. The past eight years she has worked as a Licensed Individual, Marriage and Family Therapist primarily with families and couples, as well as individuals. She has extensive experience working with families and individuals in crisis through Abbott Northwestern and Mercy Hospitals.

  • R.N. McKennon Hospital, Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Additional Training

  • has extensive training in Basic and Advanced Mediation, as well as, in situations involving Domestic Violence.
  • has Basic and Advanced training in Collaborative Law, as well as, in the Collaborative Team Divorce process as a Coach and Child Specialist.

Capabilities and Selected Achievement

  • Volunteer for Childrens Safety Center. Conducted trainings for staff and facilitated support/educational groups for parents.
  • Volunteer for Project Hope. Mentor female recidivist preparing to leave prison.
  • Teach, train, and facilitate professional development seminars for large and small groups of decision-makers.
  • Customized numerous training programs for business and industry on topics including team building, communication styles and conflict resolution.
  • Conducted Custody Evaluations for Family Court Services, Hennepin County and Domestic Relations in Ramsey County.
  • Internship completed at Minnesota Correction Facility, Stillwater, Minnesota. Facilitated psychoeducational groups in Family Re-unification.
