As a Parenting Specialist I assist couples with co-parenting relationships, as well as, blended family issues.
As a Parenting Specialist I assist parents in implementing the parenting plan they have designed and by which they agree to co-parent their children from the point of divorce into adulthood. In the months following divorce parents may continue to experience intense emotions of anger, sadness, fear etc. These emotions can interfere with an effective and nurturing co-parenting experience. In this position I assist parents in transitioning their previous marital relationship to that of a healthy respectful co-parenting relationship.
Research indicates children of divorce do significantly better when there is minimal conflict in their parent's co-parenting relationship. Each parent has different and valuable contributions to make to their children's lives. Children need consistency and healthy nurturing in their daily lives.
As a Parenting Specialist I help parents identify and acknowledge each other's strengths and how they can support each other to use these strengths for the well-being of their children.
